Hen nights are a very popular wedding tradition, that is being followed for years and is continuously evolving with new hen do ideas and activities to do. A hen night is the celebration of the last night of the bride’s singlehood before she gets married.

These are also known as bachelorette parties. A hen do or a bachelorette party, is traditionally the responsibility of the bride’s maid of honour. She is supposed to plan the entire night, send out the invites and also plan some fun activities with the rest of the bride’s friends

Hen nights involve a lot of drinking, games and activities for the bride and her friends to enjoy. There are many things to do at hen nights but without drinking games, it’s going to be an incomplete hen night. Here are some of the top drinking games for hen nights, which have been in place and practised for years now and they never get old.

I Have Never

This is one of the most famous drinking games for any occasion and tops the list of best drinking games for a hen do also. In this game, each hen has to have a drink in her hand, sit in a circle and one hen at a time, reveal something that she has never done. If anyone from the group has done what another hen just revealed, they have to take a sip of their drinks.

This is a classic drinking game and is a great hen do idea. It leads to a lot of revelations about each hen and gets everyone drunk enough to not remember the revelations the next day.

Mr. and Mrs.

This game is for the bride exclusively, but that’s not to say that the hens are not going to have fun. All hens should get together before the hen night, prepare a range of questions, and their correct answers, about the groom.

Hens will then ask these questions to the bride and for each correct answer, either the hen who asked the question has to take a shot, or the bride can choose a hen and ask her to take a shot. However, for each wrong answer, the bride has to take a shot herself.

This will be a fun game where the knowledge of the bride about her to-be husband will be put to test.

Truths and Lie

In this game, each hen will tell two truths and a lie about herself. The other remaining hen members will have to guess which fact is a lie and which is the truth. If they guess correctly, then the liar hen will have to take a shot. But if the hens get it wrong, then the rest of the hen gang needs to take a shot.

Shot Roulette

Shot roulette is something like spin the bottle but with alcohol shots. For this game, you will need shot glasses of double the number of hen girls. One person, most probably the maid of honour or you can ask someone excluding the hen gang, to fill the shot glasses with different kinds of edible liquids. For example, fill some with water, juice, vodka or some other alcohol, but do not tell any of the hen ladies what is in each of the shot glasses.

Then get the hen gang seated in a circle along with the shots. Take an empty bottle and spin it in the middle of the circle. The bottom side of the bottle will point to the person who has to take the shot which will be pointed at by the top of the bottle.

Conclusion

Drinking games are a great tradition at hen and stag nights. They also make for a great icebreaking activity at a hen night, where there are going to be a lot of friends of the bride who might not know each other. A hen party should be divided into different activities where everyone can have fun. Drinking games combine the fun of drinking and interacting with each other over some fun and quirky activities.
